laurent gmha

My name is Laurent, I’m a French expat who has been living in Vietnam since 2012. Originally from Strasbourg, I now call Hoi An home, where I work in web SEO.

Over the years, I’ve seen Hoi An change a lot… and I’ve also seen online information become increasingly confusing, even misleading. Between travel forums and Facebook groups filled with biased recommendations (often written by agencies or disguised guides), it’s not always easy to know what’s worth doing, what to skip, or who to trust.

That’s why I created Good Morning Hoi An back in 2014.

My goal? To offer reliable, honest, and up-to-date information about Hoi An, Da Nang, and Hue, whether you’re planning a trip or just want to explore the region more deeply.

Here, you’ll find:

  • practical guides written based on real on-the-ground experience,
  • restaurant and hotel reviews that I’ve personally tested,
  • and local tips I share just like I would with friends visiting.

I regularly update the content to reflect reality. If you’re preparing a trip to Central Vietnam, I hope this site will be genuinely useful for you.

To help you plan your trip more easily, I’ve also gathered my travel resources here: transportation, private car services, English-speaking guides, show tickets, eSIMs… everything I personally use and recommend.

Got a question, feeling unsure, or need some personalized advice?

Feel free to reach out, I’ll be happy to help.
