Helicopter Flight Over Da Nang | My Review 2025

Let me say it right away: this isn’t a cheap activity. But if you’re curious to see Da Nang from a new perspective, or simply looking for a memorable experience, a helicopter flight is definitely worth considering.

Originally launched in 2015, then suspended several times (due to Covid and other stops and starts), the service officially resumed on July 2, 2025. This time, it uses an EC 155B1 helicopter, manufactured in France by Airbus, with room for 10 to 12 passengers. Comfortable, fast, and fairly quiet, the aircraft is impressive the moment you step on board.

I wanted to see what it was really like, not for the thrill, but for the promise of unique panoramic views of the city, the sea, and the mountains. So, was it worth it? A nice surprise… but there are a few things to know before booking.

Helicopter Tours in Da Nang

There are two main options you can book, depending on your budget and how much time you want to spend in the air.

If you’re unsure which one to choose, here’s what you need to know.

Discovery Tour – 12-Minute Helicopter Flight in Da Nang

The Discovery Tour lasts around 12 minutes. It’s the “short” version but already covers many iconic spots: departure from Nuoc Man Airport, flyover of Non Nuoc, a ride along the Han River with its five bridges, views of Linh Ung Pagoda, the Son Tra Peninsula, and a return via My Khe Beach.

Price:

  • 3,200,000 VND for the front seat (next to the pilot, best view)
  • 2,850,000 VND for a rear seat (three seats available)

Conquest Tour – Helicopter Flight Over Hoi An

The Conquest Tour is more extensive: 30 minutes of flight, with the bonus of flying over Hoi An. This is clearly the one I recommend if your budget allows it.

Price:

  • 7,700,000 VND for the front seat
  • 7,350,000 VND for a rear seat

The price difference between seats is minor, but the front view is absolutely worth it if you’re flying solo or as a couple. In any case, book in advance, especially if you’re aiming for a specific time slot or a smaller group.

Other Helicopter Flights from Da Nang

If you’re looking to go beyond the classic Da Nang circuits, more exclusive routes are available on request:

  • The “My Son” tour (30 minutes) takes you over the famous Cham Holy Land, with a direct flight from Nuoc Man Airport to the My Son Sanctuary. Expect to pay 75,000,000 VND for the full flight.
  • The “Ly Son” option (70 minutes) lets you fly across the ocean to the volcanic island of Ly Son, also known as the Kingdom of Garlic. A spectacular route, priced at 163,000,000 VND.

For those who want to connect two cultural cities by air, a flight between Da Nang and Hue is also possible, landing at Phu Bai Airport. The round-trip cost is 152,000,000 VND.

These circuits are ideal for private events, filming, or simply treating yourself to a rare view of Central Vietnam.

✅ What I liked

  • Stunning views of Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda, and the beaches
  • The flyover of Hoi An (on the long tour): truly impressive from the sky
  • The helicopter’s condition (EC 155B1 model, made by Airbus): spotless
  • Professional ground staff and smooth organization
  • Unique experience: very few people visit Da Nang from above
  • Ability to choose your seat: and the front seat is absolutely worth it

❌ What I liked less

  • No customization on-site: for tailored routes, you need direct contacts
  • Expensive, especially if you’re traveling with others
  • No commentary during the flight, so you’re a bit on your own
  • The short tour feels very short: 12 minutes go by fast
  • Old-school booking process: no clear website with schedules and online payment

How to Book a Helicopter Flight in Da Nang

To book a helicopter flight in Da Nang, the easiest way is to go through the official Fly Danang agency or an authorized reseller. It’s highly recommended to book at least 24 to 48 hours in advance, especially during peak season. You’ll need to provide the number of passengers, your preferred date, and select your tour.

If you want a specific seat (front, middle, or rear), make sure to mention it when booking. Payment is usually done online or by bank transfer, and you’ll receive an e-ticket. On the day of your flight, arrive at Nuoc Man heliport at least 30 minutes before departure, and bring a valid ID.

My Opinion

If you’re looking for a truly different experience while in Da Nang, the helicopter ride is absolutely worth it. The views are spectacular from the moment you take off. It’s not cheap, that’s true, but if your budget allows, it’s an exceptional way to explore the area.

It also makes a great gift or shared activity, especially if you’re just visiting or want to see Da Nang and its surroundings from a new perspective. Honestly, I’d do it again without hesitation — and maybe next time I’ll go for the My Son or Ly Son flights.

In short, it’s a unique experience that lives up to its promise.
