Hidden Beach in Hoi An | The Hidden Gem You Need to Discover
Hidden Beach – The Comeback of a Forgotten Spot
Not many people talk about it, yet Hidden Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Hoi An. For a long time, it was hit hard by erosion and nearly disappeared. But recently, the sand has come back, the loungers are back too, and the laid-back vibe is exactly what we’ve been missing.
Unlike An Bang, which has become very touristy, here it’s quieter, simpler, and more local. No big beach clubs with DJs or overpriced cocktails — just a few parasols, family-run restaurants, and a clean, peaceful beach.
How to Get to Hidden Beach Hoi An ?
Even though the “Hidden Beach” sign is no longer there, the beach is easy to find. It’s located between An Bang and Cua Dai, at the end of a small sandy path you’ll easily spot thanks to a few parasols by the roadside.
The easiest way to get there is by scooter or bicycle from central Hoi An. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes, either via Cua Dai Road or through Tra Que village. Just type “Hidden Beach Hoi An” into Google Maps — it’ll take you right there.
Once you arrive, you’ll find several direct access points to the beach. There’s no big organized parking lot, but there are plenty of free places to park, with no hassle or pushy vendors.
Where to Eat at Hidden Beach Hoi An ?
There aren’t dozens of restaurants at Hidden Beach, but the few that are there are more than enough to enjoy a full day by the sea. It’s simple, good, local food with zero fuss. Here are my 4 tried-and-true recommendations:
Hidden Beach Restaurant
Location: Hidden Beach, Hoi An | Hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
This is the first restaurant you’ll see when arriving at Hidden Beach, and honestly, it’s a great surprise. The vibe is relaxed, the prices are fair, and the staff are both friendly and professional.
If you eat or drink there, you get free use of sun loungers and umbrellas. Otherwise, it’s 50,000 VND for the whole day, which is still a great deal. You also get access to toilets, showers, and Wi-Fi.
The beach is clean and well maintained, and the place is far from being a tourist trap. Fresh coconuts, classic Vietnamese dishes, and a nice sea view while you eat — what more could you want?
Wild Beach Restaurant
Location: Hidden Beach, Hoi An | Hours: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
If you’re looking for a great place to eat by the sea, with friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere, Wild Beach is the spot. There are two seating areas: one set back from the beach, and one right on the sand.
It’s probably the most stylish restaurant at Hidden Beach, but still very affordable. The menu is diverse: fresh seafood, Vietnamese specialties, vegetarian options, and even paninis if you’re craving comfort food. They also offer group or party menus ranging from 160,000 to 250,000 VND per person.
The grilled sesame beef, cocktails, and fresh juices are all well made and served with a smile. You can even eat directly from your sun lounger, feet in the sand. And yes — sunbeds are free if you order something (otherwise, it’s just 30,000 VND).
Wild Beach is that perfect mix of quality, peace, and ocean view. A real local gem.
Sun Beach Restaurant
Location: Hidden Beach, Hoi An | Hours: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
This is easily one of the most popular spots at Hidden Beach, and it’s easy to see why. The vibe is super friendly, the staff are great, and Rose, the owner, makes everyone feel right at home. Sun loungers are free, and there are even showers, hammocks, and a massage service right on the beach.
As for the food, I tried the fried rice, spring rolls, mango smoothies, and fresh coconuts — all excellent. Special mention for the bò lá lốt (beef wrapped in betel leaves), which was seriously delicious.
It’s the perfect place if you want to spend the whole day at the beach: eat, relax, get a massage… and all of it at honest, non-touristy prices.
NEO Fisherman’s Restaurant & Beach Lounge
Location: Hidden Beach, Hoi An | Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Looking for super fresh seafood, a warm welcome, and a beach that’s still off the tourist radar? Head to NEO Fisherman’s at Hidden Beach.
This family-run restaurant, managed by Luc, his wife, and his mother, serves homemade, authentic food with care and attention. Don’t miss the spring rolls made by Luc’s mom — hands down the best I’ve had in Hoi An: fresh, crisp, and full of flavor.
They serve catch-of-the-day seafood, cooked right there, with a gorgeous sea view and a super chilled atmosphere. Luc speaks excellent English, takes time to chat, and makes you feel immediately welcome.
Prices are very reasonable, ranging from 80,000 to 150,000 VND.
Activities at Hidden Beach Hoi An
Contrary to what many might think, Hidden Beach actually offers several water sports, thanks to a few local providers — you’ll spot their signs directly on the beach. Here’s a quick overview of what’s available and the posted prices:
Banana Float
Want to have a good laugh with friends on the water? Hop on a banana float pulled by a speedboat. It’s a fun group activity, perfect for families or friends. Expect to bounce, slide… and maybe take a splash!
Price:
- 1 ride: 1,200,000 VND (per group – price may vary on site)
Parasailing
For a breathtaking view of the Hoi An coastline, parasailing is the way to go. You’ll soar through the air, harnessed to a parachute pulled by a boat. Quiet, fresh wind, and 360° views — it’s an experience you won’t forget.
Price:
- 1 or 2 people: 1,200,000 VND
Jet Ski
Craving speed? Try a jet ski ride on the sea at Hoi An. There are different engine sizes depending on how much thrill you’re after. Best when the sea is calm — and trust me, the adrenaline rush is real.
Prices:
- Jet ski 700cc (10 min): 700,000 VND
- Jet ski 1100cc (10 min): 1,100,000 VND
Spas at Hidden Beach Hoi An
At Hidden Beach, a few restaurants offer massage services right on the beach, especially Hidden Beach Restaurant and Sun Beach. These are very basic setups, usually under a small canopy or a beach umbrella, with a sea view and the sound of the waves in the background.
Don’t expect anything like Heaven Garden Spa in An Bang or Citrus Spa in town. Here, it’s much simpler — but the vibe is relaxed and the prices are very reasonable (around 150,000 to 250,000 VND for a standard one-hour massage).
Perfect for a quick foot or back massage after a swim or just before sunset — without ever leaving the beach.
Where to Stay at Hidden Beach Hoi An ?
There’s really only one proper accommodation right next to Hidden Beach — but honestly, it’s more than enough. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet, clean, with a pool, a kitchen, and warm, attentive service, this is it.
Hidden Beach Pool Villas
This is a family-run villa managed by David and his team, just behind Wild Beach Restaurant. There are two large villas: one with 3 bedrooms, the other with 5, making it perfect for families or groups.
The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and the pool is excellent. Special shout-out to the mini-bar: well-stocked with drinks at super reasonable prices — often cheaper than local shops.
What really stood out to me was the hospitality. Need a taxi? They’ll arrange it. Want to eat in? They’ll cook for you in your kitchen, or even do your grocery shopping and deliver it. All with a smile, discretion, and a genuine sense of service.
The location is perfect — quiet, close to the beach, and just steps away from good restaurants like Wild Beach, Sun Beach, and NEO Fisherman’s.
In short: it’s a peaceful little oasis, perfect for couples, families, or groups looking to enjoy Hidden Beach without any hassle.
My Opinion
Hidden Beach is definitely one of my favorite beaches in Hoi An. It’s quieter than An Bang, more authentic, and has just the right mix of restaurants, sun loungers, and activities to enjoy a proper relaxing day.
Whether you’re coming to unwind in peace, try fresh seafood, go for a jet ski ride, or just sip a drink with your feet in the sand, you’ll find what you need — without the crowds or inflated prices.
And if you’ve got a bit of time, stay a night or two. With Hidden Beach Pool Villas just steps from the sea, you’ll be right in the middle of a spot that’s still off the radar… for now.
Make the most of it while it’s still one of Hoi An’s best-kept secrets.
