Archery in Da Nang | I tried it, here’s my review
Looking for something a bit different to do in Da Nang? I recently tried out an archery center that opened in January 2025, and I have to say, I was surprised. It’s not every day you get to shoot arrows in the middle of the city, in a Japanese-style setting, with quality gear, a peaceful café on-site, and even the option to rent a kimono if you’re in the mood for photos.
I’ll tell you how it works, how much it costs, and most importantly, what I thought after spending an hour shooting arrows. Honestly, it was more fun (and physical) than I expected.
An Archery Center Like No Other

The place opened its doors in early 2025, and honestly, it stands out. This isn’t some makeshift setup in the corner of a park, everything here is designed to set the mood. The building is modern with a clear Japanese touch, wood, minimalism, clean design. It’s quiet, bright, and super clean.
Beyond the archery range itself, there’s also a small café on-site, plus a kimono rental service. Yes, you read that right. You can shoot arrows while wearing a kimono, or just walk around and take photos. There were a few people dressed in traditional outfits when I visited, and it gave the whole experience a quirky and fun vibe.
The place is open to everyone, beginners, curious first-timers, locals, or tourists. There’s always an instructor around to guide you, and the equipment is in great condition, maybe even a bit too pro for a total beginner. Clearly, they’ve invested in quality.
My Experience: One Hour of Shooting Arrows

A Few Basic Rules to Follow
Before I even touched a bow, they walked me through a quick safety reminder. And honestly, it was totally necessary. Archery might look chill, but it can get dangerous fast if you mess around.
There’s a big sign listing 10 simple but strict rules you’re expected to follow. Stuff like: never point your bow at anyone (even without an arrow), don’t shoot if someone is near the target, and definitely don’t mess around with a loaded string. They make it clear: no alcohol, no fooling around, and you wait for the instructor’s signal before going to retrieve your arrows.
It’s not a military bootcamp, but the vibe is serious and well-organized. And honestly, that’s reassuring, especially when there are several people shooting at the same time. Everything is well supervised, but still relaxed.

The Introduction: Posture, Breathing, and Focus
Once the rules were clear, the instructor took over right away. No useless talk, just straight to the point: how to stand, how to hold the bow, and most importantly, how not to smack yourself in the face with the string (trust me, it can happen).
He also showed how to position the arrow properly, how to keep the bow steady, and how to release without shaking. He really emphasized breathing and focus. It’s not about shooting randomly, you have to take your time, align carefully, aim, and hold your posture.
At first, my arrows were going all over the place. But after a few tries and a couple of tweaks, I managed to hit the target. Nothing crazy, but enough to get into it. The instructor stayed nearby the whole time, quiet but observant, and he gave helpful tips without hovering.
I’m not particularly athletic, but after 30 minutes, I could definitely feel it in my arms and shoulders. Nothing too hard, but don’t think it’s just a walk in the park either.

How Much Does It Cost? Prices and Facilities
Archery Rates
This is one of the best parts: the prices are very reasonable. No need to book in advance, just show up, choose how long you want to stay, and pay at the entrance.
Here were the rates when I visited:
- 1 hour: 100,000 VND on weekdays, 120,000 VND on weekends
- 2 hours: 170,000 VND on weekdays, 200,000 VND on weekends
- 3 hours: 210,000 VND on weekdays, 240,000 VND on weekends
- 4 hours: 240,000 VND on weekdays, 260,000 VND on weekends
No hidden fees, everything is included, even the gear (bow and arrows). If it’s your first time, I’d recommend starting with just one hour. It’s enough to enjoy the experience without ending up with sore arms.
Quick tip: ask for a forearm guard if it’s your first time shooting. I didn’t, and I walked away with a lovely red mark as a souvenir.
The On-Site Café: A Nice Surprise
Right next to the archery range, there’s a small, cozy café with decor inspired by traditional Japanese houses. Wood, soft lighting, cherry blossoms at the entrance… honestly, it’s a place where you instantly feel at ease.
They offer a variety of drinks, Vietnamese coffee, espresso, smoothies, all at reasonable prices. A Vietnamese drip coffee starts at 26,000 VND. You can grab a drink while watching others shoot, or just relax after your session.
There were even a few people in kimonos taking photos, which added a fun and unique vibe to the whole place.

What I Took Away From This Experience
Honestly, I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much. I thought it would just be a nice little activity, nothing more. But archery is both physical and mental. You have to aim, control your breathing, stay steady, and above all, don’t rush. That alone makes it stand out from your usual sightseeing routines.
What I really appreciated is that everything is well structured but not strict. You learn quickly, improve fast, and really get into it. And even though I didn’t hit the bullseye every time (okay, almost never), I felt a real sense of satisfaction every time an arrow flew straight and stuck.
Another big plus: the calm atmosphere. No loud music, no crowds, just the sound of bows being drawn and arrows hitting the target. It was refreshing. And after the effort, sitting down with a coffee in such a peaceful place was the perfect way to end the session.
So, if you have an hour to spare in Da Nang and want to try something different, affordable, and well-organized, I totally recommend this center. I mean, it’s not every day you can say you did archery in a kimono, right?

I didn’t expect archery to become one of my best memories in Da Nang. And yet, it pulled me out of the usual sightseeing routine. I learned something new, had fun, broke a sweat, and genuinely enjoyed the experience, away from the hustle of the city.
The place is great, the prices are affordable, and the relaxed atmosphere really helps you get into the activity, even as a total beginner.
